What is The BIG Sport Relief Swim?
The BIG Sport Relief Swim is a virtual swimming challenge taking place in September. Across the month, swim 5km, 10km or 15km – or another distance of your choice! It’s about doing good, feeling good, and raising money for Sport Relief to make a BIG impact for people living in poverty.
Make the challenge your own and swim the distance that suits you! Plus, get inspired by some of our biggest celebrity challenges – past and present! What distance will you choose?
Swim wherever you like – from your local pool or lido, to rivers, lakes or even the sea. Just be sure to be a good sport and do so safely!
Butterfly solo or frontcrawl as a Team, be the best sport you can be and raise some incredible money for Sport Relief!

FAQs
To take part in the challenge please head to our Facebook group, fill in the registration form pinned to the top of the group and activate your Facebook fundraising page. We’ll then get your t-shirt in the post and it’ll be with you within 2 weeks of registration.
There is no minimum fundraising amount for this challenge, we just ask you raise what you can – aim high, you’ll be amazed at what you can achieve. Each fundraiser is set to £150 but you can edit this amount as you wish.
Of course, please email fundraising@comicrelief.com to allow us to send you a t-shirt and simply set up a JustGiving page.
When you join the Facebook group and register, you’ll have access to all our digital resources including a mile tracker to help you keep track.
No, but please don’t forget to share your pictures with us in the Facebook group.
This challenge is flexible. A reasonable level of fitness will be required but it should be accessible to most. Please speak to your GP if you have any concerns.
The Facebook group is for over 18’s only. If you are under 18 and would like to participate, please ask a parent or guardian to get in touch with us.
Once you’ve registered, please allow around 2 weeks for your t-shirt to arrive.
Yes! Grab your friends, family or colleagues and make it a team activity, or even friendly competition. We’d encourage you all to complete your registration to make sure you get your t-shirts quickly. We recommend you share just one of your fundraising pages as a group.
Yes absolutely. The easiest way is to collect their donation offline and donate it to your fundraiser yourself, or if that isn’t an option then direct them to your Social Sync fundraising page.
If you type in 'fundraiser' in the Facebook search bar, it should come up. If you still can’t find it please ask the admins in the Facebook group.
If you have fundraised on an online fundraising page, all donations will automatically come directly to Comic Relief. If you have any offline fundraising to pay in, we would suggest paying this in to your own account and then paying onto your fundraising page yourself. If you’d prefer to send us offline fundraising in a different way please email fundraising@comicrelief.com and we’ll send you the details you need.
