The situation is critical

And it's only getting worse... Families simply can't afford the bare minimum. They're relying on food and baby banks for basic essentials and critical support to simply get by.

For the past year we have endured increasing economic pressures – from soaring energy prices to dramatically higher food costs. But for 1 in 5 people living in poverty in the UK*, and millions more at risk, the effects of the economic climate continue to have a direct and severe impact on their day-to-day life. And when temperatures start to drop, the cut of poverty feels sharper than ever.

The situation is moving beyond significant hardship, and into life-changing and life-limiting poverty.

The prevalence and severity of poverty in the UK is increasing at an alarming rate. We urgently need your help.

You could help vulnerable families, children and young people. From providing access to basic essentials to vital support, you could help someone get through this winter.

HOW WE’RE HELPING

We are working with local organisations all over the country to provide desperately needed funding. Organisations like Little Village, Kinship, FareShare and many more who are supporting families in need this winter.

Winter Boxes

Kinship

An organisation that supports family members or friends that step in to care for a child when their parents can’t.

Fareshare

An organisation redistributing surplus food to schools and charities who then turn it into meals.

Little Village

A baby bank network that support babies and children under 5 and families living in poverty dealing with challenging circumstances.

Winter Survival Appeal

This winter Comic Relief and the Evening Standard are coming together once again to help children and families who are struggling across London, and right across the UK. Your donations will enable local organisations to help vulnerable children, young people families and individuals facing the toughest of times.
