
We teamed up with the most talented creatives we know to use their distinctive style to tell the world about the issues we care about. Each Creativist was inspired by a Comic Relief-funded projects in the UK. Their challenge: to create something unique, insightful and moving.
Meet the creativists

Mariah Idrissi
Model / Creative Consultant
A pioneer of the modest wear movement, British model, public speaker and activist, Mariah has been described as “the face of a generation” and is a force to be reckoned with. Public speaking is a keen part of Mariah’s repertoire alongside her passion for spoken word performance. Inspired by the stories of a Comic Relief funded project in Birmingham, Mariah created a short film for Creativists, focussing on Homelessness and mental health.

Akse
Street Artist
French street artist based in Manchester, who specializes in freehand photo-realistic portraits. Akse started painting in the early 90’s and is well known in Manchester for his striking murals, including that of Marcus Rashford, which was defaced following Euro 2020, but was repainted and has become a symbol of support and inspiration. For Creativists, Akse took inspiration and painted a mural on the grounds of a Comic Relief funded project, inspired by the work they do and the young people they help.

Sophie Mayanne
Photographer
Fashion and portrait photographer working across both women’s and menswear, Sophie's style is unmistakable, favouring raw, striking imagery that is uniquely hers and hers alone. Her work has been recognised and has been particularly favoured by up-and-coming artists and publications who admire the honesty and genuineness in her images. Sophie produced a photographic Zine for Creativists, taking inspiration and shots of young boxers who attend a Comic Relief funded boxing project in East London.

Harry Hitchens
Film Maker
LGBT activist and Royal Television Society and British Independent Film Festival award winning filmmaker and writer, Harry writes and presents investigative documentaries. For Creativists, Harry wrote, produced and created a new short film to raise awareness of men’s mental health and male suicide, having been inspired by the work and projects Comic Relief funds within the mental health sector.
